Cliff Duren

Cliff Duren is the Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church Woodstock, GA where he oversees the areas of music, production, and communications. This is Cliff’s second time on staff at FBCW. Initially, his role was to play piano, lead worship for FBCW’s Chapel venue, and write music for the Worship Choir & Orchestra. Before returning to FBCW, Cliff and his family moved to Nashville, TN for nine years, where he served in several different worship-leading roles across the eight campuses of Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN.

In addition, Cliff is a song writer, arranger, orchestrator, and producer of church music resources for various publishers and Christian artists. As a result, he is a guest speaker and clinician at multiple worship retreats and conferences each year. In 2017, Cliff composed his first film score for the Christian film, “Champion.” He has also recorded three instrumental albums featuring piano & orchestra and five albums as a vocal member of the trio, Overflow, alongside his wife, April, and vocalist, Heather Richardson. Cliff is a five-time Dove Award winner for his contributions in Christian music.

Cliff became a Christian at age seventeen and soon after pursued a music education degree from Shorter University in Rome, GA and a graduate degree in church music from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in worship studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Dallas, TX. In March of 2002, Cliff married his college sweetheart, April. They reside in Woodstock, GA with their four children; Mac, Sydney, Elijah & Emma Kate.
